Norfolk LEA Wants To Close Pott Row First School
The Norfolk Local Eduction Authority are reviewing the futures of small schools in Norfolk, and plan to close one of the area's top schools, Pott Row First School. The 52-pupil infant school consistantly provides excellent education to young children, as backed up by
OFSTED reports
Pott row not only has brilliant Ofsted reports but it is the first
school in the eastern region to reach
level 5 of the
RHS Campaign for School Gardening Benchmarking scheme.
They have an established
school garden that has grown over the years to include raised beds for
vegetables, built by the local rotary club, a sensory garden built by
volunteer parents, a mini orchard, a wildlife garden with pond, a bird
garden and a new music garden.
A farcical consultation has been made already by the LEA, where over 50 locals packed the small Pott Row Village Hall, backed by West Norfolk Member of Parliament Henry Bellingham who is vocal in his support for the continuation of this excellent school.
